I was thrilled to be chosen to design and build a new website for Friends of Cookham Abbey, a charity dedicated to supporting the post-excavation conservation and analysis of an incredible archaeological discovery.
Hidden beneath Cookham for over 1,000 years, this rare early medieval royal monastery dates back to the eighth and ninth centuries and is remarkably well preserved. Friends of Cookham Abbey was established in 2022 to help fund and facilitate ongoing research, education, and outreach—ensuring more people can engage with this fascinating piece of history.
With future excavations planned (thanks to the support of the Parochial Church Council), the charity will continue to provide financial and practical assistance. It’s an honor to contribute to such an exciting and meaningful project through design!
For this project, I handled the WordPress website design and build, logo and branding, content management, event posts, email newsletters, and setting up donations, payments, and memberships—helping the charity connect with supporters and grow their impact.
If you would like a website similar to this, perhaps you have a community project or need help bringing your business online please get in touch.
